Summer falls away

when the rock wren's cascade song

trills the edge of dawn.

For luck: shake paper

money like a folded fan

at the harvest moon.

Splash of shooting star

flash streak beyond mountain to

neon spin-out blue.

White moon, pebble clouds

pooled along the deep of the

night sinking sky.

Solitary dawn:

the high silhouette shadow

shape of owl tracks home.

Full moon: pale lime, bright

silver rising against autumn

indigo hills.
